Humans of Kingston

G3 Art space and Kingston Arts are proud to present

Humans of Kingston by Beata Dorain

Ever-changing emotions and the effect they have on the human body have always been my inspiration.  My exhibition will consist of a series of emotive, ceramic figurative sculptures that were inspired by the people of Kingston. My aim was to capture in clay a moment in each person’s life journey.

The construction of the ceramic sculptures is highly technical, each piece being completely hollow and created using a coiling technique that is usually used for the creation of vessels. The items are painstakingly textured by hand, dot by dot to bring them to life. Fired to stone temperature, each sculpture represents a study of a different state of mind, inspired by a different emotion as a means to connect with the viewer on a deeper level.
